JOIN US IN MAKING EXCELLENT CARE PERSONAL!The Registered Nurse at GBGH provides a leadership role within the patient care team and provides care in situations in which the patient\'s condition is complex and the patient care outcomes are not predictable. Within the scope of practice, as the Registered Nurse you will promote health, assesses and provides care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the patient.QUALIFICIATIONSThe ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

• Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
• Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
• Current B.C.L.S Certification essential, on hire required
• Minimum 2 years current Emergency/Acute care related nursing required
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.) required
• Current Advanced Pediatric Life Support (P.A.L.S) required
• Proven ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment
• Must be able to fulfill all physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
• Must meet expectations for appropriate, respectful, and professional conduct, as set out in the GBGH Code of Conduct
• Demonstrated competencies in arrhythmia interpretation
• Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using both oral and written format with patients, families, colleagues and the interprofessional team
• Demonstrated experience working independently and within a team setting
• Demonstrated excellent problem-solving ability, critical thinking and organizational skills
• Commitment to professional growth and development of self and others
• Participation in the RNAO and or ENAO (Emergency nurses association of Ontario preferred
• Current Trauma Nursing Critical Care Core Course (T.N.C.C.) preferred
• Coronary Care - Level 1 preferred
• Coronary Care - Level 2 preferred
• Certified in phlebotomy starts preferred
• NVCI or equivalent preferred
• Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale Certification (CTAS) an asset
• Emergency or Critical Care Certification an asset
• Mechanical Ventilation an asset
• Advanced training in Physical assessment an asset
• Wound and burn care an asset
• Neuro Care an asset
• C.A pumps an asset
• Computerized documentation (Meditech Expanse) an asset
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

• French verbal and written communication skills are considered an asset in this position
