Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for Registered Nurses (RN) join our team! As a RN, you will work within a multidisciplinary team and play a key role in the support of an integrated holistic approach to the patient\'s health care, health promotion and health maintenance. Working in a rural community will grow your nursing skills and challenge your ability to balance varying levels of patient acuity and priorities. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe quality care following the policies and guidelines of AHS. You will serve a diverse patient population with a continual focus on the core values of AHS - compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and safety. You will utilize your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to provide direct patient and family centered care to patients across the life span and demonstrate a professional and positive attitude with excellent communication while prioritizing multiple demands. South Zone is the smallest of the five zones but is also the most geographically diverse, from mountains to prairies, badlands to desert, and dense forest. Home to one of Canada\'s sunniest cities, which receives more than 2,500 hours of sunshine annually, the warming chinooks offer respite from a Canadian winter chill. With bustling cities and charming small towns, post-secondary education and recreational opportunities in sports, the arts, and culture, you\'ll be sure to find your fit in the South Zone. This position qualifies for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program, which reimburses $4,000 per year (up to a maximum of 5 years) for working in the rural Oyen setting. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses: CRNA Medication Administration Certificate (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0) Additional Required Qualifications:

Current clinical experience (within the last 12 months) as a Registered Nurse in at least one of the following departments is required: acute care, emergency, intensive care, operating room, obstetrics, and psychiatry. A willingness to learn new skills as required. Ability to work shift work and meet the physical demands of the job. Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of three years experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Nurse in more than one of the following departments is preferred: acute care, emergency, intensive care, operating room, obstetrics, and psychiatry. Bachelor\'s degree in nursing. Certification(s) in a relevant specialty area. Charge nurse experience. Past leadership training/experience.
