Your Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity await you in Innisfail Continuing Care is a 78 bed unit, including some Medically Complex Care beds, that provides personal care to residents under the direction of a registered nurse in accordance with established care plans, and provides encouragement, emotional support, and will ensure the dignity of the resident is maintained at all times. Using your strong assessment, organizational, and leadership skills you will identify the needs of the client and facilitate with the interdisciplinary team the appropriate internal and external resources required.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Strong ability to work in a collaborative team demonstrating adaptability and flexibility from day to day. Proven critical thinking, decision-making and assessment skills. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks which may involve physical exertion not limited to climbing stairs, walking outside, lifting, pulling-pushing, stooping and carrying. IV certification is required. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment. Two (2) years within the last five years nursing experience required in a supervisory role as well as in working as a Registered Nurse in the long-term care sector. Preferred Qualifications: Recent gerontology nursing experience and /or education, charge nurse, and leadership training is an asset.
