The Emergency Programs at Trillium Health Partners, Credit Valley Hospital is offering Registered Nurses, new Graduate Nurses and Licensed Internationally trained Registered Nurses an amazing new and innovative opportunity for learning and growth in a unique progression role in our program. We are seeking highly motivated, collaborative nurses with an interest in building a strong clinical foundation for future work in the acute Emergency Department environment.

We have created a unique opportunity for Nurses to develop foundational clinical skills working with the No Bed Admitted patients in the ED with a guarantee transfer to the Emergency Department after 6 months. You will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills and patient care management with acute patients recently admitted. You remain part of the emergency program and connected with the leadership and education teams during this onboarding period through education and learning. The combined education will prepare you to transfer to the Emergency Department, You will be provided additional orientation and education once you transfer to the Emergency Department.

  • Work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team to assess and treat a wide variety of patients
  • Collaborate with doctors/Nurse Practitioners to determine which medications or treatment plan a patient may need.
  • Use your critical thinking and high level assessment skills to assess and treat patients
  • Liaise between patient, families, other members of health care team, and community partners
  • Maintain clinical competence and knowledge base through continued education and lifelong learning

  • Baccalaureate degree and/or Diploma in Nursing
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize your critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork abilities
  • Demonstrated team player who can also be self-directed and work independently
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a team
  • Compassion and kindness
  • Previous Med/Surgical experience good to have
  • Coronary Care 1 or Rhythm interpretation course is good to have
  • Reliable and flexible individual to work as part of a diverse work team.
  • Positive work record essential
