Your Opportunity:

The successful RAPPORT candidate will report to the Unit Manager of the 3A Medicine Clinics. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care by providing direct care and by delegating care to other appropriate personnel to maintain the flow of the clinic. The RN assesses patient\'s belief\'s/values, lifestyle, interest/ability to participate in their care and other factors that may impede or impact successful treatment options and outcomes. The RN develops and implements patient-centered plans of care in collaboration with the patient/family, the interdisciplinary healthcare team and other care providers, ensuring continuity of care across time. The RN must use critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills to provide care to patients, families, communities and populations across the life span in all practice settings. The RN is responsible for safe, accurate treatment options and administration of medications while maintaining complete and accurate applicable documentation. The RN is responsible for continuing competence through ongoing professional development including participation in education programs, research and continuous improvement activities.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years\' experience in an acute care setting. Working knowledge of Connect Care, Netcare, Access, Outlook and Microsoft Word required. Must have excellent communication and documentation skills and the ability to participate as an interdisciplinary team member. The physical ability to perform CPR on Adult Clients is required. Fast Paced Unit, must be able to stand for long periods, work in a noisy environment, and assist clients with mobility issues. A medium level of physical activity is required to fulfill job requirements including but not limited to reaching above shoulders frequently, looking up frequently, prolonged periods of keyboard computer work and the ability to assist patients with mobility limitations as required. Must be physically able to lift and hold patient limb during joint assessments. Must be able to lift and hold 40 lbs. sufficient mobility to: bend, stoop, and move around rapidly throughout the shift is required. Preferred Qualifications:

BScN. Experience with Rheumatology disease and case-management, joint assessments and administration of rheumatology biologic medications preferred. Experience with insurance medication approval process including private and public plans would be an asset and is preferred. Experience in an Ambulatory setting.
