Your Opportunity:

Unit 58 is an Acute Inpatient Care Unit with a focus on Neurosciences and Hospitalist patients. Our unit is a quality improvement focused environment with an expectation of staff engagement in our efforts to provide excellence in care through assessment, evaluation and implementation. An acceptance and ability in change management is encouraged. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Unit 58, the RN is accountable for practice, according to the standards and practice defined by the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) and completes care within his/her scope of practice. The RN will provide appropriate care, as delegated in accordance with Alberta Health Services policies, procedures and established standards. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Successful completion of an approved Bachelor of Nursing degree program. Current resume attached. Preferred Qualifications: 2 years acute care Neuroscience/Medical experience in the last 5 years. Central Line Certification. Previous experience mentoring or preceptoring new staff and/or students. Patient teaching experience (both written and verbal). It’s Your Move training. Recent SCM training and proficiency. N95 fit test. Previous experience with working groups and quality improvement initiatives within the last 2 years. AIW fundamentals training.
