Alberta Health Services is looking for Registered Nurses to join our team! Working within a multidisciplinary team, the RN plays a key role in support of an integrated holistic approach to the patient\'s health care, health promotion and health maintenance. You\'re a leader and pivotal member on our team providing comprehensive and family centered antepartum care including triage care for diverse pregnancy related issues, intrapartum care in both the delivery room, pregnancy loss and/or obstetrical operating room as well as postpartum care for both mother and newborn, which may include care of patients on the postpartum unit. You will collaborate with our highly skilled interdisciplinary team who are incredibly dynamic, providing professional support to one another and understand the magnitude of the work that we do. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe quality care following the policies and guidelines of AHS. You will serve a diverse patient population with a continual focus on the core values of AHS - compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and safety. You will display critical thinking and problem-solving skills in providing direct patient and family centered care to patients across the life span with a professional and positive attitude and excellent communication. This multi-unit position will include Obstetrics, Emergency, and Medical-Surgical units. Central Alberta is bordered by the Rocky Mountains and the Saskatchewan border. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0) Additional Required Qualifications:

Current clinical experience (within the last 12 months) as a Registered Nurse in a Labour and Delivery Unit with experience in labour, delivery, perioperative, antepartum and newborn care. Minimum of three (3) years experience within the last five (5) years as a Registered Nurse in more than one of the following departments: acute care, emergency, intensive care, Labour and Delivery, obstetrics and psychiatry. Experience with intrapartum Fetal Health Surveillance. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. A willingness to learn new skills as required. Ability to work shift work and meet the physical demands of the job. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree in nursing. Certification in a relevant specialty area. Completion of NRP, Electronic Monitoring and MoreOB certification or equivalent. Experience in an Obstetrical operating room environment. Current IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) Certification. Charge Nurse experience.
