This position is suitable for an individual who has a passion for providing patient and family centered care. Elizabeth Metis Settlement is located between the city of Cold Lake and Bonnyville. Both communities offer indoor and outdoor recreational activities which are bound to keep you busy during any season. We are a populous city of over 15,000 and home to Canada\'s busiest fighter base - 4 Wing Air Force Base. We boast multiple busy industries including tourism, oil and gas and agriculture. Reporting to the Integrated Care Manager of Seniors Health and the Area Managers of Population Heath and Indigenous Health, you will be providing service to rural indigenous communities in your respective portfolio. As the Community Health Nurse you will be working to promote and protect the health and well-being of individuals, families, groups, communities, organizations, and populations. As the Community Health Nurse you will be using nursing processes that include: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, education, anticipatory guidance, implementation, preventative and screening measures, referrals and evaluations as appropriate. As a Community Health Nurse, you will facilitate the provision of holistic care to indigenous people and their families, promote respectful relationships with pertinent stakeholders, facilitate indigenous client (population, patient and families) centered care and build understanding and trust between indigenous people and health care system and/or processes. Travel is an integral part of this health team to rural and remote communities in the North Zone to provide services and promoting culturally appropriate care/services to indigenous people.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour ($35.87/hour - $43.82/hour effective April 1, 2023). Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
