BGC East Scarborough is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual who is committed to the principles and practices of BGC. We are currently recruiting a highly-skilled and dynamic individual to join our team of multi-disciplinary staff with a great opportunity to make a difference in the community.

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible to manage programs within a team environment that optimizes children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, communication, and language areas of development. The individual will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of RECE and non-ECE staff while monitoring performance to ensure all team members are aware of and comply with standards and expectations. The RECE supervisor will maintain accurate records/statistics for programs and submit monthly attendance to the Toronto Children's Services. The incumbent will manage reports on expenditure, budgets (including variances), and resource utilization.

Major responsibilities

Ensuring that all legislation pertaining to the CCEYA and AQI are implemented

Working closely with Senior Manager of Child Care and Early Years Services to oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operation of multiple licensed before and after school programs for kindergarten and school-age children

Responsible for program promotion, registration, collection of program fees, and ordering of program supplies

Develop positive and effective relationships with families/caregivers, school personnel, and community partners

Develop and implement age-appropriate and culturally diverse activities that support cognitive, emotional, physical, social, communication and language development of children

Manage staffing coverage, volunteers, and placement students

Other duties as they may arise

Successful Candidates will have:

Must be a member of the College of ECE in good standing Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as a supervisor of a licensed before and after school program for kindergarten and school-age children, in a shared space within a publicly funded school environment Strong ability, knowledge, and experience in supervising staff and children Excellent knowledge and understanding of the CCEYA, AQI, Health and Safety, and Provincial licensing standards Ability to use professional judgment all within the guidelines set by the Governing Acts, Regulations, By-Laws, and Centre Policies and Procedures Strong programming skills following children's needs, incorporating active learning, ELECT, HDLH, and bias-free activities Must be a self-starter and ability to multi-task Excellent communication (both oral and written) & organizational skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CSIS on Web, and CCLS Valid Standard First Aid/CPR certificate Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

Position Specifications:

Valid G driver's license and access to a vehicle Require to supervise multiple program sites Transportation between program sites is necessary Must be flexible and available to work between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

Pay: $60,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
