Position Overview



Glengarry Inter-Agency Group (GIAG) is seeking an energetic and dedicated

Site Supervisor - Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)

to lead our

TLC Before & After School Program

at

Winchester Public School

.

In this licensed childcare role, you will provide a

safe, engaging, and inclusive environment

for primary and junior school-age children, including Kindergarten children. You will oversee program delivery, ensure regulatory compliance, manage administrative tasks, and support children, families, and staff.

Position Details



Shifts:

Monday to Friday, 6:30-9:30 AM & 3:30-6:00 PM (Split Shifts)

Vacation Pay:

6% included in bi-weekly pay

Benefits:

Manulife benefits available after 3 months

Leave:

10 paid sick days (1 per month) + 3 paid personal days per year

Additional Shifts:

Straight 6-hour shifts on PA Days, March Break, and Summer Break

Key Responsibilities



Program Leadership & Child Care



Maintain a welcoming, safe, and stimulating environment for children and families.

Plan and implement programs that promote belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression, guided by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years.

Observe children for signs of learning, developmental, or emotional concerns, and develop individualized support plans.

Communicate with parents, caregivers, specialists, and community agencies as needed.

Regulatory & Licensing Compliance



Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and all Ministry of Education regulations.

Maintain annual licensing requirements and prepare for inspections by the Ministry and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.

Report any Serious Occurrences to the Ministry through CCLS within 24 hours and notify the Program Manager.

Implement all policies and procedures related to health, safety, and emergency management.

Program & Administrative Competencies



Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, registration, and financial transactions (parent fees, deposits).

Plan, implement, and supervise age-appropriate programs that meet Ministry standards.

Ensure adherence to Ministry standards for staff-to-child ratios, supervision, and program documentation.

Prepare and submit petty cash reports and other required financial documentation in a timely manner.

Ensure resource materials and equipment are properly maintained and inventoried.

Respond promptly and professionally to program-related emails, phone calls, and correspondence from parents, staff, and community partners.

Team Leadership & Supervision



Supervise staff, volunteers, and student placements (ECE, high school co-op, summer students).

Support and mentor staff to deliver high-quality childcare.

Collaborate with school boards, community partners, and program specialists.

Work Environment & Other Duties



Work indoors and outdoors in school settings.

Use cleaning solutions to maintain safe and hygienic play environments.

Attend team meetings, professional development workshops, and community meetings.

Follow GIAG Policies and Procedures and the TLC Program Manual.

Qualifications



Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)

Early Childhood Education diploma or equivalent recognized by the Ministry of Education

Minimum two years' experience working with children (experience in a licensed child care setting preferred)

Experience supervising or mentoring staff, students, or volunteers

Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification

Current and clear Vulnerable Sector Check

Up-to-date immunizations and health assessment reflecting:

o Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (Tdap): Required every 10 years

o Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR): 2 documented doses OR blood test (born before 1970 are considered immune)

o Varicella (Chickenpox): 2 doses OR self-reported OR blood test

o Hepatitis B: 2 or 3 doses, depending on age

Knowledge of the CCEYA, How Does Learning Happen?, and current EOHU childcare guidelines

Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills

Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365, Zoom, MS Teams)

Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making
