Position Overview
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated
Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)
to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
This role offers a
competitive wage of $27.00 per hour
(base $25.00/hour plus $2.00/hour Provincial Wage Enhancement), with a guaranteed
minimum of 25 hours per week
.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement
play-based learning activities
that align with the
Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT)
framework and
How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH?)
pedagogy.
Ensure a
safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
for children aged 18 months to 12 years.
Observe and document children's progress, maintaining
individualized learning portfolios
.
Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Support daily routines including meals, rest time, and outdoor play.
Comply with all
Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
regulations, health and safety standards, and Tamarack Day Care policies.
Collaborate with staff to maintain a supportive and professional team environment.
Qualifications
Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)
in good standing with the
College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
.
Knowledge of
CCEYA, ELECT, and HDLH?
frameworks.
Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Valid
Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
certification.
Up-to-date
immunizations
and
vulnerable sector screening
(police check).
Previous experience in a
child care centre or school-age program
is an asset.
