Job Description

Registered Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing high quality care and developmentally appropriate programming for children with accordance with the Childcare and Early years Act (CCEYA), and the philosophy of Story Book Early Learning Centre. The RECE creates a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, and emotional and social development for each child. We are looking for part-time with possible extension to full time hours.

Responsibilities:

Plan, develop, and implement stimulating and developmentally appropriate programming and activities for individuals and groups. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child's development and any concerns. Observe and document children's progress and development using appropriate tools and methods. Adhere to health and safety procedures. Help integrate children with special needs into the program by supporting inclusive practices. Collaborate with team members to maintain classroom routines and meet individual needs of children. Support the physical needs of children by assisting with toileting, diapering, dressing, feeding, and encouraging self-help skills. Ensure children are clean, dry, properly dressed, and that dietary or medical requirements are followed. Ensure safe, clean and welcoming environment for children. Ensure compliance with all regulations under the CCEYA, licensing standards, and centres policies.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Proven ability to work independently and closely with other educators and caregivers. Well-developed skills in areas such as leadership, communication, organization, assessment and teamwork. Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Job requires frequent lifting up to 20lbs, bending, kneeling, crouching. Knowledge of ECE theories including child development programs and evaluation. Knowledge of educational games, activities, and toys, with the ability to implement the same and create a stimulating enriched environment for children at the centre. Clear Vulnerable Sector Check Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree from recognized University or College
