Rate of Pay: Depends on experience and credentials. Range: $24.86-28.76/hour including subsidy.

Primary Responsibilities: We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated individual with a big heart and a creative mind. The successful candidate will empathically develop and implement child-care programs for children 16 mos to 12 years. These programs support and promote children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. They will be asked to creatively lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity. They will guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits and employ keen observation in identifying signs of potential learning or behavioural problems. Administrative skills are necessary to prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisors.
Understanding of and complying with Ministry of Education guidelines is imperative along with the Childcare and Early Years Act 2014, and licensing regulations. The successful candidate will establish guidelines for behaviour, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children. They will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children. They will assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members.
Experience: Experience is an asset. Experience with Special Needs Children is also an asset. Some computer skills, First Aid/ CPR Certificate is required.
Credentials: Early Childhood Education Diploma, Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators

Hours: 0-40 This is a call-in position to start.
