Within your team, plan and implement, in consultation with the Program Manager and Assistant Program Manager age appropriate programs for children aged 0-3 years to enhance their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA-2014).
Required Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education Diploma (ECE) or equivalent
Registered member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
Non-RECE candidates with equivalent experience and skills may be considered
Valid Standard First Aid/CPR - C/AED
Clear Police Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector - Level 3
Up-to-date and complete immunization records and health assessment

Provides and maintains a stimulating, creative and developmentally appropriate program and learning environment for children
Uses a variety of teaching techniques, materials and experiences to implement program goals based on the children's current interests and emerging skills
Strengthen your program by ensuring a high-quality experience for your children and families by implementing How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014)
Ensure programming and bulletin boards are kept current and up to date
In collaboration with parents complete ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2 developmental screenings on each individual child in your program to help identify children at risk of developmental delays
In collaboration with parents develop Developmental Support Plans for children who have identified delays
Maintain appropriate daily documentation, i.e. attendance, daily log and health logs
Ensure the centre meets all dietary restrictions, i.e. maintaining up to date lists of children's restrictions and posting in all necessary areas
Ensure the necessary documentation, charts, authorization and transition forms are done in a timely manner
Ensure up-to-date files are kept on the children, i.e. emergency contacts with phone numbers and child pick up permission forms
Monitor administration of medication given to children in their program, as authorized by the policies and procedures
Ensure that Childcare Injury Reports are signed and filed in a timely manner
Complete all HR training courses as assigned
Actively enhances own professional development through workshops, webinars and other involvement in the Early Learning Community
Participate in performance appraisals process including long- and short-term goals for yourself and your program.
Up-to-date knowledge of issues and trends in Early Childhood Education
Respects confidentiality and relates to parents, children and other staff members in an ethical manner
Participate actively in all staff and team meetings
Work in compliance with the Health and Safety Act and report any violations of the Act to the Child Development Program Manager
Demonstrate a clear understanding of trauma informed care and infant and early child mental health
Other duties as assigned by the Program Managers or Lead Educator
Community Liaison:
Participate in professional activities with coworkers and peers
Communicate positively with agency and community peers
Welcome visitors and tours into program and ensure visits are pleasant and worthwhile
Volunteer at Youville Centre fundraising events if available
Supervision of Staff:
In collaboration with the Child Development Program Manager, supervise cooperative education students, student teachers and volunteers and aid in the training of new and supply educators
