Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator or ECE student to join our team as Enhanced staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for educating young children and creating a nurturing learning environment. Hours: 3pm-5pm Monday to Friday (10 hours/week)

Victoria Learning Centre is a small business in Kitchener, ON. We are professional, agile, and our goal is to help be a leader in early childhood education in the Kitchener Waterloo Area.

Qualifications:



1.Diploma in Early Childhood Education

2.RECE

3. First Aid and CPR C

4. Must obtain Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment

Duties and Responsibilities



1. Maintain confidentiality of financial information, parent and child information, family, parent, and child issues, staff issues, and other information that would commonly be expected to be confidential.

2. Lead and support other ECEs when planning and implementing learning experiences for children that are age appropriate in a positive environment to enhance their physical, social, cognitive, and emotional development

3. Lead and support other ECEs when planning and implementing learning daily indoor and outdoor activities

4. when planning and implementing curriculum in your classroom

5. Provide positive social experiences for all children

6. Maintain a safe and secure environment for the children in your classroom

7. Depending on your shift, be responsible for opening and closing activities

8. Follow all policies and procedures of the centre, with annual review

9. Use appropriate language and tone with all children, staff, parents, and prospective parents

10. Maintain positive and professional relationships with all co-workers and parents

11. Follow the centre's behavior management protocol

12. Be aware of the serious occurrence policy and report any serious occurrence to the supervisor immediately

13. Be able to fill out an accident form if required

14. Help maintain a safe clean environment for the children by

a) Ensuring teacher to child ratios are met at all times

b) Ensuring all sanitary practices are followed

c) Know the number of children in the room at all times

d) Keep toxic materials out of reach of children at all times

e) Be familiar with fire drill procedures and duties

f) Ensure proper storage of supplies and materials

g) Ensure toys are disinfected weekly and mouthed toys daily

h) Ensure children's bed sheets are changed regularly

i) Ensure toys are age appropriate and are rotated regularly

j) Ensure that the children's needs are met first

k) Ensure your classroom reflects emergent curriculum

15. If you have an issue with a co-worker, discuss it with them at an appropriate time (not in front of the children). If the matter cannot be resolved, go to the supervisor.

16. Follow all policy and procedures

Failure to meet job requirements, policies, procedures, and the day nurseries act can result in immediate dismissal without notice

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
