Katimavik Cooperative Nursery School (KCNS) is looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and experienced

Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)

to join our vibrant community!

one-year contract position (September-June) with the possibility of renewal

, our families are hands-on partners in the operation of the school, creating a unique and supportive environment for both staff and students. KCNS is a not-for-profit nursery school that helps children build confidence, independence, and school-readiness through social interaction and play-based learning.

Duties

Create and deliver a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum that inspires curiosity and joy. Foster a warm, safe, and engaging classroom where every child feels welcome. Support positive social interactions and friendships through gentle behaviour guidance strategies. Observe and document children's growth and development, sharing progress with families. Communicate openly with parents and caregivers as active partners in their child's learning. Maintain a tidy, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration. Collaborate with co-educators and parent volunteers to bring fresh ideas and energy into the program.

Experience & Qualifications

Diploma in Early Childhood Education and registration in good standing with the College of ECEs. Experience working with preschool-aged children in a play-based setting. Strong communication skills for connecting with children, families, and colleagues. Knowledge of curriculum planning, classroom management, and inclusive practices. Familiarity with behaviour guidance strategies and supporting children with exceptionalities. CPR+First aid certified Police Record Check for Vulnerable Persons

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.86-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
