Summary:

Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) and ECE Assistants are responsible for guiding, instructing and nurturing children from infancy to school age in a variety of play and life skills. Tilbury Tot Early Learning Centre follows an emergent curriculum called "How Does Learning Happen?"

Job Details

Develop and deliver age-appropriate activities Guide and assist children in daily activities Provide a safe and happy classroom environment, conducive to learning Light housekeeping duties Be knowledgeable on all children's medical or behavioural history Plan, prepare and implement daily activities (indoor/outdoor) Oversee all children's feeding and mealtime/snack time activities Diapering care and/or overall supervision of all toileting and bathroom routines Maintain ongoing documentation domains Maintain excellent professional communication with parents. Ensure confidentiality of privileged information Maintain adherence to all Tilbury Tots Early Learning Centre policies and procedures including safety requirement. Participate in team planning sessions with other and work cooperatively and effectively as a team. Ensure activities adhere to the CCEYA Maintain up to date knowledge of current child development practices through continued professional development. Demonstrate behaviour that is professional, ethical and responsible Assist with other duties as requested

Requirements

College Diploma in Early Childhood Education Current RECE Number in Good Standing with the College of ECE Immunization or Statement (Yellow Card) of Medical Exemption Current 2 Step TB Test (Within the last year) Current First Aid/ CPR Level C Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within 6 months)

Strengths

Experience in childcare Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication Ability to effectively interact and relate to children Proficiency in one of Canada's official languages High level of energy and patience High level of attention to confidentiality

Work Conditions

Regular of frequent requirement to lift children (up to 45lbs) Interact with children, staff, administration, family members, visitors and government agencies Manual dexterity required. Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting children
