Kids Barrie Childcare + Preschool is recruiting for our high quality, unique value proposition preschool, dedicated to providing high quality early learning, the best nutrition and highest quality environment for kids, educators and parents.
With a total licensed capacity of 156 children divided into eight classrooms: 60 toddlers and 96 preschoolers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators in Good Standing (must provide College of ECE Membership number when applying
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an Ontario childcare program
Experience working with children in a group setting and/or experience caring for the individual needs of children up to 4 years of age
Holder of a valid Standard First Aid/CPR-C Certificate (Infant/Child)
Vulnerable Sector Check - within the last three months
Ability to deliver high quality curriculum programming for children
Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbally - grammar and punctuation
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and initiative
General knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and How Does Learning Happen framework
Ability to work alternating shifts between 7:30am and 5:30pm
Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with children, co-workers, and parents
Ability to meet the physical demands of this position - must be able to lift minimum 25lbs
WORK SCHEDULE:
Candidates must be available to work on rotating 8-hour shifts during the Centre's hours of operation (7:30am - 5:30pm). Occasionally extended hours for staff meetings.

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE:
Reports to the Principal/Supervisor and/or Chief Kids Officer
Work collaboratively with the Chef
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our RECEs must above all believe in the vision, mission and values of Kids Inc. (to be briefed during interview process)
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program space
Complete the set-up of play areas and weekly programming
Assist in set up and cleanup of children's activities and learning areas, including snacks and mealtime
Ongoing communication with families and the community
Participation in special events, professional development within the centre and/or community partners
Completion of forms, documentation of children's routines, accident forms, classrooms logs, attendance etc using the Brightwheel application
Understanding of Reggio Emilia educational philosophy
Incorporates learning experience that reflect healthy, clean and allergen free eating
Accompanies children to destination in the community and on field trips
Excellent parent communication skills and an excellent ability to solve concerns/problems
Excellent work ethic-willingness to go above and beyond to meet needs of children, program and families.
Provides input for the evaluation of programs
Responsible for maintaining supervision for children.
Must inform parents of any incidents involving their children.
Ensure toys and equipment used in activities are maintained in a safe, clean condition and kept in a good state of repair. Set up activity area and ensure physical environment is safe
Takes work direction from the Centre Supervisor and Chief Kids Officer
