About the Role

Essity Professional Hygiene North America is currently searching for a Regional Sales Manager to support our Bunzl account in Canada. The Regional Sales Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Bunzl Canada leads a dedicated sales team within Canada, with responsibility for strategic implementation of the sales, marketing, e-commerce, and program strategies for Bunzl. The Regional Sales Manager will ensure that agreed sales growth, retention and profitability targets are achieved, according to set goals for the area of responsibility. The Sales Manager is responsible for working in close collaboration with the W&O Director and the Commercial Excellence team to build and execute plans within Bunzl\xe2\x80\x99s regional structure and for developing and maintaining top-to-top relationships with Bunzl. The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of Account Managers, and following up related sales activities and strategic KPIs with this team. The Regional Sales Manager will also collaborate with other Bunzl Sales Managers, Segment leads, Virtual Sales and Key Account Managers to incorporate end customer plans and is responsible for implementing and executing North America Go-to-Market strategies and best practice standards and policies within the business, while improving the overall success of their sales team.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development, implementation, and goal achievement of agreed joint distributor plan in partnership with the Sales Director, the Commercial Excellence team, Bunzl leadership, and the sales team
  • Lead and develop a team of Account Managers according to Essity Leadership platform \xe2\x80\x9cLeading People\xe2\x80\x9d
  • Support Account Managers in building, maintaining, and growing strong relationships and profitable sales growth with the Bunzl Regional teams and Bunzl Specialty Divisions, as appropriate
  • Manage own area of responsibility including overall go to market approach, optimizing end customer & distribution partnerships set up and ensuring Account Managers actively manage product mix, drive sustainable hygiene management, drive profitable growth, and manage retention & churn according to agreed goals and budgets.
  • Drive sales activities and launch plans with Account Managers and Bunzl branches via accurate sales and financial forecasts, professional business reviews, and aligned reporting on key strategic KPIs
  • Serve as a thought leader in terms of market knowledge, segment insights, and hygiene solutions, for team, end customers, and distributor partners while positioning Essity and Tork as the partner of choice and preferred brand
  • Develop Top-to-Top relationship with Bunzl key stakeholders and select, strategic end customers in own area of responsibility. Negotiate and clearly communicate key components/dimensions to protect Essity interests and ensure mutually agreed targets are achieved.
  • P&L accountability for own area of responsibility according to agreed annual budget.
  • Collaborate with other Key Account Managers / Directors to drive execution of segment-led roadmaps and commercial excellence playbook within Bunzl regions
  • Build strong partnerships and collaborate internally within sales and related functional teams such as Commercial Excellence, Marketing, Logistics, E-Commerce, Sales Operations, HR, Revenue Management/Finance, etc.
  • Actively manage performance and develop sales force competence including expanding digital tool adoption, building omnichannel skills, increasing financial and business acumen, and leveraging data and analytics for improved decision making. Secure talent pipeline and succession plans.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree desired, preferably in business or sales & marketing. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • 10+ years of proven successful sales leadership
  • Ability to travel overnight 40% of the time to domestic locations
  • Proven experience from Sales B2B.
  • Prior experience working in a matrixed organization and cross-functional team atmosphere.
  • Managed a large, multi-faceted Strategic Account.
  • Have successfully led change.
  • Demonstrated capability to understand growth strategies and translate those into practical sales plans and best practices.
  • Excellent Business acumen and sound sales financial understanding.
  • Strong negotiation skills \xe2\x80\x93 is able to independently negotiate within area of responsibility.
  • Digital savviness \xe2\x80\x93 Experience working with CRM systems (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics) preferred and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Questions the status quo, explores new possibilities, proposes change initiatives
  • Approaches problem solving with agility and flexibility
  • Customer success obsession and a bold passion for working towards results and customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: proven ability to build relationships on all levels
  • Ability to set goals and have the drive to achieve them, both personally and for direct reports
  • Strong drive for results and sense of urgency
