Job Description


On target income (OTI) is composed of your base salary + commission/bonus structure. OTI is a forecast of your potential earnings for the role.Our client is an established industrial manufacturing company specializing in the production of conveyor systems, chains, and sprockets tailored for saw mills, pulp and paper, and processing facilities. They pride themselves on delivering 60% engineered and highly customized solutions to meet their clients\' specific needs.Their reach extends primarily throughout North America, with a focus on the US market. Sales opportunities are generated through both inbound and outbound business from direct customers or distribution representatives.As part of their commitment to expanding and enhancing their sales team, they are seeking an Outside Sales Representative who will play a crucial role in fostering relationships with clients, driving business development, and contributing to the growth of their company. This position requires 50%+ travel, with the successful candidate spending approximately two weeks per month flying to various locations in the US to meet with customers on-site.
The ideal candidate will have a blend of leveraging existing business relationships while actively pursuing new opportunities.Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and distribution partners.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities through effective business development strategies.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to enhance overall performance and achieve collective goals.
  • Provide regular updates on market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in industrial manufacturing or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, spending approximately two weeks per month meeting with clients in the US.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort in discussing technical aspects of their products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Openness to learning and adapting to new challenges.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • High level of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Mechanical inclination and ideally previous experience in a similar industry.
  • Comfortable engaging with clients in diverse locations, including on-site visits to industrial facilities.
  • Location flexibility, with the ability to work out of the Abbotsford office when not traveling.
