What's the job?

The Regional Manager directly supports the SVP Wealth Management in effectively managing a sales force within the network as well as functionally and operationally executing the development of strategies, objectives and business plans. The Regional Manager coaches and mentors his/her team, leading by example and embracing Coast's business model, the Distributive Network Model. He/she works with his/her team to create an educational environment where the team is focused on providing a high standard of service while achieving sales, growth and profitability in all business areas.

What you'll get to do:

  • Demonstrates and models successful sales and sales management activities and behaviors in order to meet and exceed member expectations and business objectives.
  • Effectively manages and coaches to success the Mobile Insurance Advisors within his/her respective region.
  • Work with various product suppliers' administration department leaders, executive, consultants and Branch Management on operational issues affecting the Coast Capital Financial Management Division.
  • Participates in product development and research in developing product branding strategies, relationship management strategies, competitive positioning strategies and market research processes.
  • Work effectively with Marketing to implement insurance revenue growth marketing plan.
  • Facilitates regular team meetings focusing on training, product and peer transfer of knowledge.
  • Responsible for performance management including performance evaluations, goal setting, career counselling, training, development, recruiting, creating a recruiting pipeline - both internally and externally, promotions, salary recommendations, transfers, building employee morale, helping each member of CCFM pursue a Professional Development Plan, coaching each Mobile Insurance Advisor to success.
  • Responsible for registration renewals, onboarding and complaint handling
  • Ensures the review of a reasonable number of member files with each CCFM staff member on a regular basis, focusing on the following key expectations: Regulatory Compliance; Member needs met; Member interaction preference discussed and identified; Additional needs/opportunities uncovered; completion of strategic tools; sales closed ; future appointments booked and or referred; adherence to CCFM strategies.
  • Maintain excellent relations with insurance companies, product providers and service providers.
  • Effectively manages controllable expenses.
  • On occasion, responsible for initiating, designing and implementing projects in support of department's objectives.
  • Reviews the CCFM team's portfolio growth/mix to ensure they are doing needs-based, long-term financial assessments using appropriate product solutions.
  • Reviews weekly and monthly reports and provides coaching on sales, financial advice and opportunity management - member need identification, provision of advice, packaging of solutions, asking for and closing the sale, monitoring and follow-up.
Who are we looking for?
  • Minimum of seven years successful sales related experience in progressively senior positions within the financial industry.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years managing and mentoring staff in a team environment. A broad knowledge of all aspects of retail banking is needed. A dedicated commitment to sales is imperative.
  • The incumbent must be results-oriented, flexible and have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively motivate and supervise employees.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills.
  • Works well independently with strong organizational and time management skills as this position is mobile and the incumbent will often be required to "work on the road".
  • Expert business development skills.
  • Creative thinking and ability to make independent decisions and take responsibility.
