OVERVIEW:


We are seeking a versatile and people-focused Regional Human Resources Business Partner to support both strategic initiatives and demanding daily HR operations across our office and field locations in Canada and the United States. This role plays a critical part in aligning regional HR practices with company-wide goals while ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate brings strong cross-cultural awareness, deep knowledge of regional labor laws, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment. In addition to managing complex, day-to-day administrative responsibilities, this role also oversees employee health and welfare programs and serves as a key liaison between employees and insurance providers.

RESPONSIBILITES:



LEADERSHIP

Provide day-to-day Human Resources leadership to Human Resources team members, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise. Develop and lead a professional, achievement and service-oriented approach that meets the needs of the organization. This requires a sustained understanding of the company's business model and supporting strategies in order to appropriately identify and align Human Resources' requirements with the operational requirements. Collaborate with regional and country management teams to develop and implement Human Resources strategy in alignment with regional business strategy. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the department. Train and develop Human Resources staff, and cross-train personnel from other departments that support Human Resources initiatives/processes.
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

Provide support and guidance to crews, office employees, and management to handle employment-related inquiries and perform administrative tasks required to execute Human Resource programs and procedures. Work with senior Human Resources personnel in the company on initiatives to develop and deliver regional and country-specific Human Resources programs, policies and procedures that are aligned to business needs and goals. Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's Human Resources and talent regional strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, and retention. Support staffing management challenges associated with regional recruiting, temporary international assignment management, visa processing, onboarding, and regional outsourcing. Design and implement strategies for supporting Human Resources initiatives in locations with limited (or non-existent) resources. Manage the onboarding of employees at all levels. Evaluate the types of controls in a regional Human Resources environment that need to be implemented to manage risk and maintain compliance. Maintain compliance with all applicable HR-related laws and regulations, including U.S. requirements (e.g., Fair Labor Standards Act, Civil Rights Act, Affordable Care Act, COBRA, 401(k) audits, EEO-1 reporting) and Canadian Employment Standards legislation, as well as general HR operational and reporting obligations and recommend best practices, review policies and practices for alignment. Recognize and articulate country-to-country Human Resources challenges, gaining knowledge of foreign laws, regulations, and practices through consultation with local experts and independent research. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law. Be visible and provide direct support to operations management and Human Resources teams. Serve as backup to other Human Resources team members, as needed. All team members are required to contribute to the administration and execution of routine tasks.

Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations and provide guidance to employees regarding benefits, claims, and plan options. Resolve benefits-related issues. Ensure benefits are administered in compliance with provincial, state, and federal regulations. Processes required documents through insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping. Reconciles benefits statements. Maintain and verify data related to premiums renewals in ADP WFN. Assist with annual renewal process and open enrollment. Analyze benefits utilization and recommend improvements or enhancements to optimize cost and employee satisfaction.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



Post-secondary degree in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of professional development and experience. 10+ years in Human Resources Thorough understanding of regional Human Resources Practices and knowledge of international employment-related laws and regulations. Strong understanding of payroll processing, compliance, and benefits administration. Strong skills in communication (verbal and written) and influence. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Self-motivated and able to work independently to complete complicated projects as well as administrative tasks.

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
