Your contribution!

Reporting to the Senior Director Health & Safety you will work to develop and implement a strong health and safety program and culture, by providing specialist advice and guidance on Health & Safety matters to Operations teams in the region. During the first 18 months, you will also have the responsibility of leading the implementation of the LPS project within the region. You will be accountable to develop, implement and maintain the LPS systems, and processes across the region.

Your day-to-day!

  • Oversee the activities to develop Core Team experience and competence
  • Customization of training materials for LPS and LPIS modules.
  • Practice delivery of training materials with the core team.
  • Pilot the development of the LPS tools (at the site).
  • Commence production of Job Loss Analysis (JLA) procedure plan.
  • Commence planning logistics for Development Workshops. Produce detailed LPS
  • Implementation Plan for the region.
  • Following Core Team Advanced Training (CTAT), Finalize customization of LPS training material, JLA procedures, and LPIS modules prior to the rollout of training to employees.
  • Following the implementation of LPS, oversee the proper implementation of the system;
  • Communicates H&S procedures and policies to Operations Supervisors and collaborates with them to determine the rollout strategyl
  • Provide guidance to Operations Supervisors and H&S team members and for office activities relating to compliance with regional legislation;
  • When required, oversee the execution of subcontractors' project work including, ensuring that the preparation and execution of the work is done in compliance with the Innergex Contractor Management Standard.
  • Maintain the Contractor pre-qualification register up to date, including identification and pre-qualification of new contractors.
  • Assist Operations Supervisors to investigate incidents properly, suggest corrective actions, and produce timely reports.
  • Plan, arrange and chair monthly regional liaison meetings between Operations and HS.
  • Collation and reporting of monthly safety statistics (including all leading and lagging indicators) and the dissemination of key safety information across the region.
  • Supervise the implementation of the regional job-based training plans from an H&S perspective and ensure that training records are updated.
  • Actively participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and promote the sharing of health and safety knowledge across all sites and offices in the region.
  • Provide feedback to the Regional HS Manager on the effectiveness of Safety Standards and suggest improvements where necessary.
  • Participate in the development of safety culture improvement initiatives and lead the implementation of those initiatives within region.
  • Oversee the roll out of new safety standards in terms of developing and implementing a communication plan and checks to ensure that key messages are understood and acknowledged.
Your skills, our requirements!
  • Professional H&S designation (such as CRSP) would be advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field would be advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in H&S supervisory role. Minimum of 10 years experience in Operations/HS roles.
  • Must Have valid unrestricted drivers class 5 license
  • Ability to travel to all facilities in region. Some sites are remote and will require that you are able to stay in camp;
  • Experience working in an industrial setting, ideally in remote work environments;
  • Experience in the following focus areas: job hazard analysis, risk assessment, incident investigation and root cause analysis, writing procedures and claim management.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience of writing safety procedures.
  • Proficient in French and English, both oral and written, Spanish an asset

  • The position is based at the company's head office located in Longueuil, steps away from the Longueuil-Universite de Sherbrooke metro station.or in Levis.
  • This position is a P3 level.
