Position: Regional Accountant
Location: Ottawa east, 4 days in office, 1 day home
Salary: $90K to $95K, plus bonus, RRSP, group benefits, 3 weeks\' vacation plus time during the holiday season

A solid opportunity for a Regional Accountant to join an expanding team, operating across 5 locations within the Ottawa area. Reporting to the Controller, you will act as a key partner to company managers, providing expert guidance and knowledge in all accounting and financial matters. Your primary focus will be on financial analysis, financial statements, general ledger analysis, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play an active role in preparing month-end and year-end files for multiple companies.
- Follow up on fixed asset schedules for various companies.
- Prepare reconciliation schedules for balance sheet and income statement items.
- Enter accounting entries and prepare bank reconciliations for different companies and divisions.
- Prepare financial and operational analyses, as well as annual budgets for companies and divisions.
- Recommend system improvements to ensure the integrity of control processes.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes for multiple companies.
- Assist in the analysis of monthly margin differences.
- Perform related tasks as required.Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in finance and accounting.
- CPA designation or in the process of obtaining CPA is an asset, but not required.
- At least 5 years of experience in a high-volume environment such as distribution, manufacturing, or automotive sectors.
- Strong communication skills in English, demonstrating professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and good judgment.
- An affinity to be a leader who leads by example, provides coaching, guidance, and maintains regular communication.
- Ability to highlight opportunities and influence decisions with a focus on continuous improvement.
