Career Overview/Responsibilities:
Show a professional, goal oriented, and sincere approach towards all other employees and customers.
Ensure that all hand and power tools, spray equipment, mixing equipment, and the spray booth are maintained in good working order.
Ability to perform equipment audit checks for acceptable performance and detect faults and or possible malfunctions.
Displays good colour vision and comprehensive colour identification which include mixing, painting, blending and matching colours.
Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
Apply primers and repaint surfaces.
Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed.
Follow Health and Safety programs and guidelines and attend safety meetings regularly.
Attend all daily and/or weekly production meetings.
Capable of arriving at a logical decision appropriate to assignment and with ability to make sound decisions.
Delegate appropriate tasks to appropriate apprentices as needed.
Adhere to all Health and Safety programs and participate in Health and Safety meetings to ensure the shop is in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Other duties as required.
Requirements:
Comprehensive understanding of the entire vehicle repair process including body, prep, and paint.
Comprehensive understanding of management system and shop procedures.
Displays an understanding of insurance companies' policies and processes.
Ability to perform all tasks required of a Red Seal or Journeyperson technician independently.
Displays agility along with the ability to tolerate the physical demands of the job including lifting to 50 lbs.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks and prioritizing according to shop goals and customer obligations.
Ability to mentor, coach, train and invest in the future of apprentices in the Paint department.
Valid Driver's License
