The ideal candidate will not only fabricate and assemble metal components to specification, but also help train and mentor students and apprentices in welding techniques, safety practices, and industry standards.
CWB certification is required
, and experience across multiple welding processes, including flux core, is expected.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications.
Fabricate, build, and assemble metal components using industry-standard welding techniques.
Perform welding tasks on various materials, ensuring high-quality and durable welds.
Operate power and hand tools safely and effectively.
Support and guide students or apprentices during practical training sessions.
Demonstrate safe welding practices and correct equipment use to learners.
Assist in developing instructional materials and hands-on learning activities.
Provide feedback and informal assessments to help students improve their welding skills.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, modeling best practices at all times.
Collaborate with other team members and instructors to meet institutional goals.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Welder, preferably with a background in mentoring or training.
CWB certification is required

Skilled in MIG, TIG, Stick, and flux core welding techniques.
Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support instructional duties.
Familiar with operating grinders, saws, drills, and measuring tools like calipers.
Basic math skills for accurate fabrication work.
Ability to engage with learners of varying skill levels in a respectful and constructive manner.
Prior teaching or training experience is an asset; a teaching credential or willingness to obtain one may be required depending on institutional policy.
