Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to join our team at Options Family Wellness and Addiction Center. Options is an abstinence- based drug and alcohol treatment center. The ideal candidate will hold a Red Seal or equivalent, be comfortable around our clients, be flexible, compassionate, and have a passion for helping others. The food we serve is an important part of our program, as we treat the mind, body and spirit.

A VALID BC CLASS 5 DRIVERS LICENSE IS REQUIRED.

Duties

Plan and prepare two healthy meals daily, following the client programming schedule (clients prepare their own breakfast). Coordinate food preparation and meal services. Ensuring breakfast food is stocked for client-prepared meals. Be able to manage and stay within kitchen budget. Maintain kitchen stock. Follow Assisted Living Guidelines and Options Family Wellness and Addiction Center Policies and Procedures. If not in recovery, have boundaries around personal drug and/or alcohol use. Maintain stock room. Be prepared to support clients emotionally, and have proper boundaries. Liaison and coordinate with other kitchen staff. Follow the monthly meal plan as charted.

Qualifications

Red Seal or equivalent. Proven work experience within the food industry. Excellent references. Must hold valid Class 5 BC Drivers License. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Able to handle client load, which fluctuates up to 19. Proficient in food handling techniques and culinary skills including food preparation and cooking methods. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with Program Director and Client Support Administrator. Ability to be calm and supportive with our clients.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
