We’re looking for a highly skilled Recruitment Specialist to join our team to support the business in bringing top tier talent that demonstrates the Gibson Way into the company. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in recruitment and human resources, with knowledge of screening, interviewing, and hiring best practices. What You'll Be Doing
  • Acting as an employment brand ambassador by ensuring Gibson Energy is a great place to work by promoting the Gibson Way and screening for cultural fit.
  • Building networks and staying active with community and industry partners, including job boards, social networks, universities and colleges, technical schools and search firms when needed, to source a diverse talent pipeline of candidates that demonstrates the Gibson Way in advance of need.
  • Maintaining a complete understanding of the competitive marketplace and leveraging research to develop and refine recruitment strategies.
  • Working closely with leaders to gain a good understanding of hiring needs and expectations.
  • Creating a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to hired.
  • Assisting hiring leaders in creating effective job descriptions.
  • Posting jobs and announcements using appropriate channels.
  • Ensuring targeted sourcing strategies, ‘screening in’ methods, technical and behavioral interview techniques are being used.
  • Conducting interviews, ensuring appropriate interview questions are used based on position.
  • Designing, refining, and implementing required templates, procedures and programs.
  • Demonstrating a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensuring safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Most work is performed in an office environment and /or virtually using MS Teams.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time to work with colleagues at our field locations.
  • In-person attendance at networking events and career fairs, etc. will be required.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


What You'll Bring
  • Post-secondary education in Business and/or Human Resources with 3-5 years of Recruitment and/or HR experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • A highly developed network to source candidates from.
  • Familiarity with job boards and experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (eg; Success Factors) is an asset but not required.
  • CPHR designation is an asset but not required.
  • Proficient in using business software, eg; Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.


Working Conditions
  • The majority of the work is performed in an office environment.
  • this position will have opportunities periodically to travel to site locations.
  • Gibson has a hybrid work environment for Calgary-based employees (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we work from the Calgary Head Office). On Monday and Friday, work can be done remotely.
