Position Title Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist
Required Qualifications

Your accomplishments and dazzling proficiencies:

  • Bachelors University Degree in applicable discipline.
  • Five (5) or more years in a Recruitment role, experience with Applicant Tracking Systems
  • At least one (1) year experience with onboarding new hires
  • Five years of experience managing full cycle recruitment activities through an ATS system and demonstrated experience with juggling multiple priorities is required.
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
  • A proven track-record in assessing stakeholder recruitment needs, diagnosing underlying issues & creating sound recruitment and onboarding strategy.
  • An energetic, social, friendly demeanor with proven record of relationship building and maintaining across various types/groups of people.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent oral, written communication, and listening skills.
  • Able to handle a high volume of requests and sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable provincial (Alberta) and national laws and regulations is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CPHR) designation and/or Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience in unionized environment and/or public or post-secondary institution preferred.
  • Working knowledge of People Admin and Moodle (ilearn) is considered an asset.

What does a \xe2\x80\x9cDay in the life of a Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist\xe2\x80\x9d look like? (hint: anything but boring).

The Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist, under the direction of the Associate Director, People & Culture provides support to Keyano\'s Leadership and employees with full cycle recruitment, selection, interviewing and onboarding of new hires as well as the employer branding strategy. The position plays a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best talent by developing and executing targeted recruiting plans, leading interviews, networking, coordinating/implementing college recruiting initiatives, completing new hire onboarding and providing recruitment reports and statistics.

The Recruitment and Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for the development and implementation of people strategies and processes for recruitment, selection and onboarding that are in line with best practices and current trends, anticipating and meeting current and forward-looking needs of our leaders and employees. An essential element of this position is the ability to align Keyano\'s processes with best practices and with our Equity & Diversity goals, evolving applicable legislation as well as Keyano\'s values and focus priorities.

Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

What your expertise will be needed for:
  • Update and manage the full cycle recruiting activities: attract, recruit, assess, select, hire and onboard by using our Applicate Tracking System.
  • Provide advice and support to business unit leaders in the recruitment function.
  • Creation and upkeep of the onboarding program/system for all new hires.
  • Onboarding of new hires including emails to new employee and leader regarding start date, new hire commencement presentation, enrollment into online orientation program.
  • Co-ordination and management of all pre and post recruitment and selection activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge on innovative recruitment and onboarding processes, software and applications, laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the College\'s recruitment and onboarding policies and processes comply with any updates to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Tracking and reporting of recruitment & retention statistics
  • Provide monthly KPI reports and suggestions for improvement to increase inclusivity, retention, recruitment reach etc.
