Job Description

Reporting to the Consultant, Career Development, the Recruitment and Talent Management Advisor has an evolving role responsible for directly guiding, supporting, and facilitating the work of faculty and staff career development at Dalhousie.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage content for the Leadership Academy online hub (via SharePoint) and ensure details are all up to date and available for participants.
  • Provide guidance on participant issues or questions, as needed. Collect and assess participant program applications.
  • Coordinate all logistics for facilitated sessions including room booking, facilitator requirements, and ensuring all sessions meet accessibility standards.
  • Receive and review applications submitted, approving or denying the requests. Respond to applications and inquiries, directing information-seekers to appropriate resources.
  • Alongside the Career Development Consultant, facilitates an array of learning and development opportunities and ensures all programs are created and delivered in alignment with the University's equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) priorities.
  • Administer the Dalhousie Managerial Administration Group (DPMG) professional development fund including receiving and reviewing applications and issuing reimbursements.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree with three to five years' experience in a project management, coordination or advising role (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive and professional relationships.
  • Problem-solving and service-oriented mindset.
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Adaptable and flexible to meet changing demands in a dynamic work environment.
Assets
  • Experience in project management, preferably with focus on a large-scale, event-based program development and implementation
  • Familiarity with career development and best practices.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to EDIA.
  • Experience in workshop facilitation and public speaking.
  • Additional training and/or certification in relevant areas, such as human resources, communications or project management, or education.
