The Role
The Recreational Team & Program Lead plays a key role in ensuring the success, growth, and quality of our recreational gymnastics programs. This position focuses on leading and mentoring our coaching team, ensuring an exceptional athlete and parent experience, and supporting the delivery of innovative, safe, and engaging programming at both Sudbury and Valley locations.
You'll work closely with Recreational Supervisors, Coaches, Administrative staff, and Club Directors to uphold GymZone's standard of excellence while fostering a positive and inspiring training environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership - 45%
Be the ultimate master of safety, fun, learning and gymnastics
Maximize the performance and quality of recreational programs across both locations
Empower and mentor Supervisors, Coaches, and Athletes during classes, camps, and event
Maintain and replicate a high-quality experience across Sudbury and Valley sites
Lead monthly coaches' meetings, mentorship, and succession planning
Assist with staff scheduling, replacement plans, and class rotations
Support the coordination of private lesson schedules
Program Management - 45%
Streamline program delivery through structured processes, coach training and leading by example
Support athlete progress tracking, talent identification, and program development
Monitor class ratios, enrollment growth, and scheduling efficiency
Curate preschool and recreational theme weeks, plan programming, and ensure a safe and clean gym environment
Assist in planning PA Day Camps, March Break, and Summer Camps (themes, crafts, games, supplies
Contribute to timely, creative social media content showcasing program highlights and events
Support injury reporting procedures and liaise with parents in a professional, compassionate manner
Gym presence on peak nights in the role of a coach and or supervisor
Customer Relations, Administration & Special Projects - 10%
Respond to parent and athlete feedback in a timely, solution-focused way
Help place children in appropriate programs based on skill and potential
Support Club Directors during peak times (front desk, registration, special initiatives)
Grant applications
Qualifications
Background in gymnastics, dance, or sport (asset -- training provided to the right fit)
NCCP Gymnastics Foundations, Competition 1, Tramp Technical 1 or willingness to obtain
Respect in Sport, Safe Sport & Making Ethical Decisions Certifications
Valid First Aid & CPR, Criminal Record Check, and Risk Management training
Diploma or degree in Sports or Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, or Education (asset)
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Positive attitude with a passion for youth development and sport
