Duties


----------


The program Lead is accountable for the review, development, monitoring and assessment of employee performance, provides coaching and guidance, and maintains discipline, validation and the implementation of change, assists the Program Manager and the Training Standards and Design Unit with the development of Course Training Standards (CTS), leads a team of instructors delivering multi-facet training, oversees and supervises instructor subordinates and ensures compliance with the CTS, ensures standard operating procedures, policies, directives and processes are respected, documents and files training reports on instructor performance and course delivery, and assists the Program Manager in block training planification for the Protection sector. Furthermore, the Program Lead can be deployed operationally as a Protection Supervisor to support major events, incidents responses or other operational requirements.

The Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) is a separate and distinct organization not subject to the Public Service Employment Act. It has its own classification, compensation system, and staffing regime. Persons appointed to PPS continue to be part of the federal government and will receive the public service pension plan and public service insurance benefits plan.

CERTIFICATION:



Successful completion of the PPS Detection Trainer Course (DTC).

ASSET EXPERIENCES:



AE1 - Experience supervising a team.


AE2 - At least 2 years of experience as a Detection Specialist at the PPS.
