Job Title: Recreational and Life Skills Program Facilitator

Location: Hope Endoors Community Services - Downtown Brampton, Ontario (In Person)

Position Type: 1-Year Contract

Wage: $17.60 - 18.50/hour (with potential for review after 3 months)

Hours: 37-40 hours per week (Monday to Friday; occasional evenings or weekends for special events)

Start Date: September 2, 2025

About the Role:



We're looking for someone who enjoys creating fun, inclusive, and meaningful experiences for neurodiverse young adults. At Hope Endoors, our Recreational and Life Skills Program Facilitator helps participants build everyday skills, connect with others, and grow in confidence. You'll not only facilitate daily sessions like our Day Program Facilitators, but you'll also take a lead in planning, developing, and adapting the program curriculum based on participant needs, interests, and goals.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both designing meaningful programming and being hands-on with participants. You'll work collaboratively with the team to create safe, engaging spaces where each participant feels empowered, respected, and connected

What You'll Be Doing:



Develop, adapt, and lead inclusive life skills activities such as cooking, hygiene, emotional regulation, arts and crafts, community safety, physical activity, and drama based on participant needs and interests

Take the lead in preparing weekly lesson outlines, activity plans, and contributing to the monthly program calendar in collaboration with the program team

Actively participate in all planned activities alongside participants, modelling engagement, providing support, and helping to create a positive and inclusive group dynamic

Adapt lessons and content using UDL strategies, visual supports, and trauma-informed practices so that all participants can engage and succeed

Create opportunities for social skill development, communication, and teamwork through structured and unstructured activities

Support participants during moments of transition or dysregulation with calm, respectful, and proactive strategies

Document daily activities, track participant progress, and assist with basic assessment and planning

Guide students and volunteers during programming and help them understand how to support neurodivergent participants respectfully and effectively

Help evaluate program effectiveness and suggest ideas for improvement

Communicate with participants, families, and community members in a positive, professional, and inclusive way

Support health and safety protocols and be willing to participate in specialized training such as medication administration or de-escalation techniques if needed

Perform other related duties as assigned, based on the needs of the participants and the program

What We're Looking For:



Experience supporting neurodivergent individuals such as those with Autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, or learning disabilities in a community, school, or program setting

A strong understanding of person-centred practices and inclusive learning strategies such as UDL and strength-based approaches

Creativity and the ability to plan lessons and activities that are both meaningful and fun

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both participants and within a team

Comfortable supporting participants with a range of developmental levels, sensory needs, and communication styles

Reliable, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision when needed

Willingness to learn and participate in diverse activities such as cooking, painting, games, fitness, or crafts even if you're not an expert

CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain

Vulnerable Sector Police Check required upon hire

Asset: Background in DSW, CYW, social services, recreation, behavioural science, or a related field
