Your Opportunity:The Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury is a 48-bed inpatient facility that provides care for patients with acquired brain injury through an interdisciplinary approach. The program is a progressive and expanding service with a commitment to professional development and excellence. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Recreation Therapist I is responsible for assessment of patients as well as development, implementation and evaluation of individual treatment programs according to professional practice standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining adequate treatment and progress records, attending treatment team conferences and supervising the routines of therapy assistants. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. You will ensure the level of therapeutic recreation practice is evidence based, patient-and family-centred, and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management of clientsxc2xbf treatment progress and provide clinical support and consultation. You will collaborate and communicate with the health care team and participate in patient rounds, family conferences and meetings as related to the client and family.
