Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Manager of PLC 41 Med Psych, the Recreation Therapist I will provide day-to day therapeutic recreation activities for children and adolescents (ages 5-18) with concurrent medical and mental health issues. Assessment of leisure activities, group facilitation and connection to appropriate community resources will be key aspects of the position. Service is provided in the context of family-centered care and may include liaison and collaboration with relevant community agencies, including schools. Responsibilities may include participation in case conferences, staff meetings, professional development and program evaluation as required, student education, and other related duties as required. Appropriate documentation and statistical data collection is required.Description:As a Recreation Therapist I, you will be working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive services for patients (clients, residents) within your assigned program or service area. You will ensure the level of therapeutic recreation practice is evidence based, patient-and family-centred, and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management of clients\xc2\xbf treatment progress and provide clinical support and consultation. You will collaborate and communicate with the health care team and participate in patient rounds, family conferences and meetings as related to the client and family.

Required Qualifications:Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). Additional Required Qualifications:As per the provincial job description. Active registration with regulatory body. Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Brain Story Certification. Collaborative Problem-Solving Training.
