Recreation Program Coordinator Youth Volleyball

Surrey, BC, CA, Canada

Job Description

About Volleybox Sports Centre:

Volleybox Sports Centre is the hub of a vibrant volleyball community, providing top-tier facilities and programs for the physical, social, and emotional development of youth athletes. As we grow, we are in search of a detail-oriented Recreation Coordinator who is not only passionate about sports but also has a strong financial acumen to ensure the fiscal health of our programs.

Role Summary:

The Recreation Coordinator will be the operational and financial heartbeat at the Volleybox. This on-the-ground role involves direct engagement with coaches, staff, and our community, requiring a hands-on approach and a strong focus on fiscal responsibilities. You will not only manage the logistics of our volleyball programs but also oversee budgeting, forecasting, and tracking expenses to support our financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Directly coordinate volleyball programs, ensuring high engagement and exceptional quality. Serve as the primary liaison for parents and participants, handling inquiries and check-ins with a hands-on approach. Collaborate with coaching staff to facilitate effective communication and program execution. Maintain flexible work hours to support varying program schedules and participant needs. Exemplify leadership in creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants and families. Oversee the logistical coordination of the Volleybox facility, from scheduling to equipment management. Manage program budgets, forecast financial needs, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures to ensure fiscal responsibility. Generate financial reports and provide insights on financial health to support strategic decision-making. Lead our email marketing initiatives, crafting compelling email campaigns that keep our community informed, engaged, and excited about upcoming programs and events at Volleybox Sports Centre.

Working Conditions:

Venue Management and Engagement: Oversee operations at the Volleybox Sports Centre. Occasionally represent Volleybox at outdoor promotional events to engage the community and promote programs. On-Site Administrative and Program Coordination: Administrative and coordination tasks are to be carried out from our Volleybox offices and program sites. This role requires a physical presence for direct interaction with parents and participants, particularly during program start times, and does not support remote work. Expect to work flexible hours, including late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Physical Activity and Local Travel: Must be able to transport equipment, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and travel locally to manage and expand programs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or two-year college diploma in a relevant field (such as Recreation, Sports Management, Business, or a related area) required. Highly organised with the capacity to juggle multiple projects and excel in a dynamic environment. Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with a personable demeanour. Commitment to on-site, proactive program management and execution. Financial savvy with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking. Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel between locations as needed. Current First Aid certification and a clean criminal record check are mandatory. A dedicated advocate for youth sports with a keen eye for financial detail and efficiency.

Salary: $48,000 - $68,000

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Volleybox Sports Centre is a privately held company, which means we have the flexibility to recognize and reward exceptional performance. If you consistently go above and beyond and help drive growth, there will be opportunities for increased compensation over time.

Why Join Us:

Join Volleybox Sports Centre and contribute to a meaningful cause, developing youth volleyball programs that truly make a difference.
