Hours: Part-time contract | 5-20 hours/week | September 6th - June 23rdRate: $15.50/hourAvailable Shifts: 7:15am - 10:00am; 3:00pm - 5:45pm; 6:00pm - 8:00pmJob SummaryAlison Neighbourhood Community Centre (ANCC) is a nonprofit organization that helps build community through recreation alongside people of all ages. We help build individual and community skills and assets, and provide opportunities close to home for everyone. We are looking for a dedicated individual to lead and support our Breakfast Club, After-School and evening programs. The Recreation Program Leader needs to be resourceful, energetic, empathetic, and fair. They will be able to receive constructive feedback and serve as a team-player. The person in this role will report to and be supported by the Recreation Coordinator. #Galtlove #lookwhatwedoKnowledge, Skills and Qualifications Completion or currently enrolled in Child & Youth Studies, Rec & Leisure Studies, or related experience; Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification; Current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening or willing to obtain one; HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification; Background in sports, visual arts, performing arts, and/or technology an asset.Job Responsibilities Deliver and lead children ages 4 - 12 in games, crafts, and activities as outlined in the program plans; Promote equitable and accessible healthy living through provision of nutritious meals and physical activity; Create a welcoming environment that encourages daily participation of our children and youth; Engage with participants in a meaningful way that encourages individual growth of physical, mental, emotional and social health; Consider health and safety of all participants in accordance with Waterloo Public Health guidelines; Complete operational duties such as attendance, accidence reports and opening/closing responsibilities; Monitor the inventory of equipment and craft materials; Work with an understanding and sensitivity to the multi-cultural needs of our community; Perform other related duties, as assigned by the Recreation Coordinator or Recreation SupervisorStandards Adhere to guidelines and the Policies and Procedures set forth by the organization to ensure the highest quality of service delivery; Apply the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development in every aspect of program life; Maintain regular communication with supervisors, keeping them fully informed of all nonroutine, urgent and/or controversial matters; Maintain confidentiality of participant information and concerns while acting as a point of contact to parents/guardians;Job Type: Part-time
