Part-time Rec Coordinator Position

At the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, we offer community support to Autistic folks and their families. This support includes community recreation, where Autistic individuals will have an opportunity to attend a community event in environments where they feel supported and included. These events can range from swimming, and bowling, to a movie night, etc.

Our Labrador office is looking for a part-time Recreation Coordinator to create, organize and host events and programming.

Expectations:

Plan, implement, and attend monthly family events

Plan, implement, and attend a weekly

Work with the Central/South Navigator and ASNL Community Resource Center (virtually)

Knowledge in disability inclusion and accommodations, especially in reference to being Autistic!

Support planning/organizing ASNL's annual summer camp

Complete intake registration for monthly programming

Collaborate with and maintain community partnerships in the different geographic locations

General Knowledge of ASNL's other supports/programs

Order/pick up needed supplies

Answer phone/email inquires

Administration duties - timesheets, transportation, complete travel reimbursement forms, finances, event demographics/reports

Have own transportation to and from events

Work a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours

Starting Date: March 31st 2025

Experience Required:

- experience developing and facilitating recreational programs

- Experience working in a community/not for profit setting

- understanding of autism and disability culture (asset)

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
