At the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, we offer community support to Autistic folks and their families. This support includes community recreation, where Autistic individuals will have an opportunity to attend a community event in environments where they feel supported and included. These events can range from swimming, and bowling, to a movie night, etc.
Our Corner Brook office is looking for a part-time Recreation Coordinator to create, organize and host events and programming.
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and attend 1 Family Event per month.
Plan, implement & facilitate 1 weekly recreation program (can be in the realm of creative arts) per quarter. Program should be a minimum of 8 weeks in length. Preference would be a pre-registered program. Drop-in programs would be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Work with the Corner Brook Office Navigator and ASNL Community Resource Center
Knowledge in disability inclusion and accommodations, especially in reference to being Autistic!
Support planning/organizing ASNL's annual summer camp
Complete intake registration for weekly programming & family event.
Collaborate with and maintain community partnerships in the different geographic locations
General Knowledge of ASNL's other supports/programs
