Job Summary
The Registrar's Office (RO) is a large, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Assistant Registrar, Convocation and Special Projects, the Records and Academic Support Clerk is responsible for the administration and clerical support of the process and procedures required for accurate and efficient student records and academic support management.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update student records, including handling grade changes and grade entry, course adjustments, academic integrity cases, and academic and graduation standing.
Support parchment production and convocation by producing and quality checking parchments including replacement parchments, support ceremonies, and manage post-ceremony tasks.
Respond to student inquiries, addressing questions about records, graduation, degree audits, and convocation via email and phone.
Process and maintain student records, including, but not limited to degree verifications, graduation eligibility assessments, and academic history.
Complete IRCC immigration reports, support academic calendar submissions, and run Banner reports.
Assist with testing and implementing new student information system features, support updates to graduation application processes, and provide support for the execution of new procedures for convocation ceremonies and the academic calendar.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Business/Administrative Professional diploma with minimum 3-5 years' related work experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
Proficient communication, interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with close attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to author clear, organized documentation.
Assets
Experience in Banner Production, or a related system.
Experience in a Registrar's Office.
