Faculty Appointment Types Sessional Non-NRSL Job Summary
The College of New Caledonia has opportunities for an Indigenous Curriculum Developer in the Centre for Teaching & Learning (CTL). The primary purpose of this role is to support faculty seeking to Indigenize and decolonize academic programs, courses, and pedagogy. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and evaluating facilitated sessions and resource materials. They will support instructors to enhance pedagogical approaches, teaching materials, and assessments, that reflect Indigenous ways of knowing and being. In addition, they will design and facilitate curriculum exploration and/or program review for Indigenization for courses across all College programs, and develop resources related to aspects of curriculum design and development, including culturally-relevant assessment of student learning.
Skills & Qualifications
• The successful candidate will be First Nations, Inuit or Metis with familiarity of the diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada and a keen understanding of Indigenous history, current affairs and a strong knowledge of Indigenous educational issues and the Truth and Reconciliation Final Report. • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent education and experience in Indigenous-specific frameworks, together with knowledge of educational development
