The Opportunity
We have a fulltime, one year term position available for receptionist to work under the leadership of the Operations Manager. This rolewill provide reception support to ensure the mission, vision, and values of CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association) Manitoba and Winnipeg are carried out in an effective and timely manner. This role will welcome those we support with compassion and understanding.
The Position
This role will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as work ethics. They will be the "first face" of our division/branch. Working at the front desk, the Receptionist manages incoming queries from the public via fax,telephone, in person visits, and email. The Receptionist is an outgoing, flexible, and proactive individual. The ideal candidate will have an ability to warmly interact with individuals from very diverse backgrounds and circumstances without judgment, be able to set firm boundaries, and respond to a variety of situations as needed.
The hourly wage scale for this position falls within Band 1, $16.00 and $20.85, of the Collective Agreement, with 35 hours of work per week.
The Qualifications
REQURIED
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven front desk experience, preferably in a community services or mental health setting.
Knowledge of mental health terminology and sensitivity to the unique challenges associated with mental health issues.
Proficiency in MS office software, office technology, and general office procedures.
Effective communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and professionalism.
Discretion in handling confidential information and effective problem-solving abilities.
Team collaboration, adaptability, and a professional demeanor are essential qualities.
Satisfactory criminal and vulnerable sector check.
Satisfactory child and adult abuse registry checks.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Acceptable work record.
PREFERRED
Additional education or certification in office administration or community services.
Familiarity with relevant privacy laws and regulations.
