We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, ensuring a smooth patient experience from arrival to departure. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and familiarity with electronic medical records systems. Previous experience in a medical or dental office is highly desirable.
Duties
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service.
Manage multi-line phone systems to answer calls, schedule appointments, and handle inquiries efficiently.
Maintain patient records accurately using electronic medical records systems such as Telus PSS.
Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments.
Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure timely patient care and follow-up appointments.
Handle correspondence and communication between patients and medical staff effectively.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a receptionist in a medical office is preferred.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems; experience with Telus PSS is an asset.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and office procedures.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
