This position is responsible for providing Administrative support to SOTCS and to various Programs within Spirit of the Children Society. The Office Receptionist is responsible for administrative duties including reception, social media updates, and other administrative support for all locations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reception:
Promote and support traditional cultural teachings and practices for our families, agency, and community
Create and maintain a welcoming, culturally supportive reception area
Answer calls, greet families and guests, respond to email inquiries
Follow emergency procedures/guide staff and clients in emergencies
Office Administration and Support:
Track and administer vehicle and transit ticket usage
Schedule and maintain room bookings
Maintain and distribute staff lists, program calendars, office supplies and manage postage and printers
Coordinate mail, and courier
Ordering office and janitorial supplies.
Program Support:
Administrative support and preparing for program start (printing documents, labels, brochures)
Program inventory and control
Support the agency's client file system, including receiving, documenting, and filing intakes and referrals
Assist in organizing agency events such as annual powwow, family nights, and family Christmas gathering
Develop and update Social media (strong computer skills are required)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience office administration, reception, and social media, preferably in the non-profit or public sector.
Excellent computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and email on Windows platform.
Strong understanding of social media tools and website development
First Aid Certificate required or must be willing to certify before starting position.
Food Safe Certificate required or must be willing to certify before starting position.

Knowledge of Indigenous communities, organizations and service providers within the Circle 6 area an asset.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full Time position, dependent on negotiated funding for the contract year. April 1-March 31
Full Time: Hours are usually (9:30am start until 5:00pm finish)
35 hours/week (7 hours per day, with 30 min unpaid break)
