Job Description

SUMMARY:



This position requires a flexible schedule, including early morning, late night, and weekend shifts. The Receptionist reports directly to the Finance Supervisor. The Receptionist is responsible for ensuring the controlled entry of participants into the facility, processing admissions, registrations, concessions and accessories in a professional and courteous manner, providing administrative support to all staff at the facility, and performing janitorial duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Greets and provides service and information for all walk-in guests. Answers incoming calls and either responds to inquiries or directs callers to the appropriate department. Responds to customer inquiries promptly and communicates in a positive and professional manner. Processes admissions, memberships and program registrations. Handles cash, maintains a balanced float, and prepares daily cash deposits. Assists in the creation and distribution of marketing materials and maintains the facility bulletin boards. Maintains inventory and orders office supplies, concession items and sport accessories. Provides administrative assistance to staff and department managers. Ensures that the Front Desk and Lobby are kept clean and free of clutter. Performs facility janitorial duties, ensuring that safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards and practices are met and related records are maintained. Enforces facility rules and regulations consistently. Promotes participation in recreation activities. Attends staff training sessions and courses as required. Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Finance Supervisor and Programmer.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



Customer service, administration orientation and an ability to multitask. Excellent oral and written communication skills, neat in appearance, professional in attitude and understands the sensitivity of confidential information. Must be thorough, organized, articulate and punctual. Must work well under pressure and pay particular attention to deadlines. Interested in working in an environment which is fast paced and always changing. Flexible and able to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and supervisors. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Explorer and Outlook). Knowledge and understanding of the policies and procedures of the Bulkley Valley Pool and Recreation Centre. Knowledge of the philosophy and objectives of community recreation. Ability to administer first aid. Ability to provide back-up to the Lifeguards (calling EMS) Ability to maintain records.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Required:



1+ year(s) of administrative, service or hospitality industry experience. Cash handling experience. Standard First Aid Ticket

Desirable:



Food Safe Certification (Level I) Formal training in accounting, office procedures and customer service preferred.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.35-$24.39 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 40 per week
