We are looking for a positive and confident Veterinary Medical Assistant to join our exceptional team of veterinary professionals. Candidates should be passionate for client education and dedicated to providing excellent patient care.
Job Requirements:
Available to work weekdays and occasional Saturdays with shifts ranging from 7:30am-5:30pm
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Good communication and time management skills
Ability to work well with all employees and ensure that your actions support the hospital, doctors and the practice philosophy.
Ability to communicate and handle high-stress situations while maintaining a professional manner.
Compassion for animals
Ability to use computers effectively
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals. Should be able to lift 40lbs on their own (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.).
Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time; frequently work in a bent or squatting position.
Duties would include:
Provide friendly, quality client service.
Answering and operating a multiple phone line system.
Scheduling appointments and triaging urgent care.
Greet clients in a professional, friendly manner.
Collect client fees, process payments and run end of day transactions.
Gain knowledge of products sold & services offered and answer questions concerning products purchased/used.
Enter data into practice management software.
Cleaning and sanitizing clinic kennels, exam rooms, and common hospital spaces
Maintain basic general care and cleanliness of all patients
Assist vets/techs with patient handling & procedures
Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments/equipment
Occasional property maintenance may be required
