Carefor is Eastern Ontario's largest home care and community support services not-for-profit, with over 1,200 employees operating in Eastern Counties, Ottawa, and Pembroke-Renfrew County. What You Will Do:



Greets clients and visitors, and directs them to the appropriate staff or area Receives and directs incoming phone calls Screens all visitors as per Carefor defined protocols Receives and processes cash donations Receives deliveries from vendors Assists administrative staff with overflow work, such as data entry, photocopying, and correspondence Maintains reception area, keeping it sanitized and free of clutter. Consistently focuses on the client/customer Approaches a task, carrying it out and taking responsibility for how it turns out Protects the safety and welfare of others Performs in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the organization Uses sound knowledge and skill in work/role performance Striving to anticipate and exceed the needs of clients Involving clients in decision making Monitoring and evaluating results/outcomes Advocating the needs of clients Participates effectively as a team member Values and respects individual contributions Shares knowledge and experience Shares accountability for team efforts On-going work process review and evaluation Looks for ways to improve work or care processes, based on results and/or evidence Asking questions until understanding is achieved Being receptive to new ideas and willing to try new methods and approaches Being able to adapt to change as the job requires Accepting the challenge of self-directed learning Respecting others' values and opinions Demonstrating genuine regard and compassion for others Respecting the confidentiality and integrity of others Appreciating and celebrating the contributions and successes of other individuals and groups Functions and reports in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety legislation & regulations, and Carefor policies and procedures. Wears or uses any/all protective equipment or clothing provided by Carefor and does not interfere with protective devices so as to change or negate their functions.

Qualifications



Highschool diploma or acceptable combination of education and experience Minimum one year experience in an office environment Experience in Health Care or Community Support setting is an asset Experience in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience in handling confidential information Bilingualism (English/French), an asset Ability to interact effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external clients. Ability to function as an effective team member and work cooperatively and respectfully with others Able to adapt to change as the position requires, receptive to new methods and ideas

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.98-$20.59 per hour

Education:

Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:

an office environment : 1 year (required) Health care or community Support: 1 year (preferred)
Work Location: In person
