Job Description

Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Health and Wellness, the successful candidate is responsible to perform reception and custodial duties and ensure that the Phoenix Building is a welcoming space for public and is maintained in a clean and safe manner.The incumbent is primarily responsible for greeting clients, providing information on programs, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the building, including snow removal when needed. Maintaining these responsibilities will help to ensure the health and safety of the staff and the members of the public.This position is funded through to March 2025 with a possibility of extension.
The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education, experience, and knowledge:

• Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Previous related experience in customer service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, move freely, physically fit.
• Must have good oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to recognize and organize priorities.
• Demonstrate sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations on facility operations and maintenance.
• Provide janitorial services; maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of the Phoenix building.
• Handle, dispose and store hazardous goods following universal precautions.
• Ability to instruct/demonstrate the safe and proper use of cleaning products and equipment to others.
