We are leaders in precast concrete and proudly serve all over Western Canada. We manufacture precast for industrial, commercial, agricultural, and civil infrastructure and have built an outstanding name in the construction industry. This position will be situated full-time in our manufacturing plant in Blackfalds. The successful candidate will have previous experience working with rebar and be physically fit with the ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. They will be required to learn tasks related to the production of precast products to assist multiple crews in the manufacturing shop. Must be willing to work day shifts Monday to Friday.
- Position and secure steel bars and rods using a variety of rebar-tying techniques
- Space and fasten together rods using wire and pliers
- Determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions
- Use a variety of tools to cut rods to the required lengths
- Prepared to work hands-on and receive on-the-job training
- Follow directions and work with a crew
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
- Troubleshoot problems and report to foremen or supervisor
Assets
- Basic understanding of construction principles
- Journeyman Rebar Tier/Rob Buster Certification
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of previous rebar experience
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions when necessary
- Available to work the day shift Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday
- Minimum 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
- Physically able to perform demanding work for extended periods of time
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- A valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with reliable transportation to drive to the shop every day
- Local to central Alberta or willing to relocate to central Alberta
- Must be eligible to work in Canada. Currently, we are unable to sponsor international candidates.
