This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.
Your role
CBC/Radio-Canada's is seeking an experienced analyst to support the Real Estate Transactions, Transmission team in review of telecommunication site share applications for the let and lease of transmission facilities, as well as the preparation of related agreements. You will procure information from internal and external partners. Using that information, you will present transaction summaries to parties for review. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Asset and Lease Management, Real Estate Transactions, terms will be negotiated with landlords and tenants. Using agreed terms you will draft and present license and lease agreements to parties for execution. You will work with internal and external Finance representatives as well as, risk management, engineering, and operations partners to coordinate logistics and administrative requirements in all aspects of facility use.
Working closely with the Senior Manager, Asset and Lease Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for all day-to-day transactional processes for the let and lease of telecommunication facilities, throughout Canada.
You will be responsible for:Review and analyze offers (both let and lease) to validate operational requirements and provide recommendations on next steps. This includes review of technical site related documentation such as site share applications, site plan drawings, etc.
Prepare necessary feedback, presentations/written responses to municipalities, tower facility owners, etc. in respect of site use, as may be required.
Liaise with client groups including Legal counsel, Risk management, Finance, Transmission Operations, Spectrum Engineering and Capital Planning project leads for fact finding and gathering of resource data, as may be required internally for negotiation of agreements.
Perform activities related to lease administration functions including follow up and delivery of landlord or tenant operational requirements, as well as receipt and validation by external or internal parties of engineering as-built, construction drawings and post inspection documentation.
Ensure the timely and effective delivery of transaction approval processes and reporting requirements as outlined by internal or external clients and Corporate objectives.
Participate in the budget review process and monthly forecasting and collect and report on non-financial information as required.
Provide up to date information on regional transactions to both Senior Manager and team members, as required.
Manage numerous projects at one time.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:Education. You have a college diploma or University degree in the area of business management, real estate law, real estate development, or a related field.
Experience. You have four to five years of experience negotiating and administering real estate contracts. You have experience in telecommunications or a related field. You are comfortable using database applications, and basic office software.
Financial Acumen. You have proven ability to analyze the financial aspects of contractual agreements. Experience with budgeting and financial reporting related to real estate transactions is considered an asset.
Interpersonal skills. You have strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
You can work effectively and professionally with different functional groups and levels of employees to achieve results. You have a high attention to detail in the preparation, review and tracking of documentation.
Accountability. You have excellent judgment and proven decision-making ability. You can manage competing priorities, have strong time management skills, and are extremely organized, never losing sight of the details or the big picture.
